Festival du Monde Arabe de Montréal (FMA) - Les Maîtres Musiciens de Jajouka dirigés par Bachir Attar. Les fameux gardiens de la musique intemporelle et universelle du village Jajouka, Maroc, un espace unique au monde à tous les points de vue, sont à Montréal. Ils ont inspiré Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Paul Bowles, Brion Gysin, Aerosmith, Ornette Coleman, Sonic Youth, Peter Gabriel, les Sex Pistols et tutti quanti. The Master Musicians of Jajouka led by Bachir Attar held a live concert-performance in Montreal, Canada on Saturday, November 10, 2007, one of the highlights of the eighth Montreal Arab World Festival, organized by Le Festival du Monde Arabe de Montréal (FMA).

Paul Bowles and his friend Brion Gysin first heard the music of the Master Musicians from Jajouka in July 1950, at a moussem near Sidi Kacem (location of a saint's tomb), located on the Atlantic Ocean, not far from Tangier.

The Hand of Fatima  A new film by Augusta Palmer about her father Robert Palmer, the New York Times' first rock music critic, and his 1971 journey to Jajouka, Morocco while on an assignment for Rolling Stone magazine. Palmer developed a close friendship with The Master Musicians of Jajouka. This documentary with rare archives of photographs and footage, also has musical performances by the Master Musicians and conversations with Bachir Attar. It is scheduled to be released in late 2008.
